Job Summary:

The WERC Program (Workforce Education & Readiness Continuum) at Goodwill Central Texas supports adults facing barriers to employment by providing access to job placement, occupational training, and individualized career guidance. To qualify, participants must be at least 18 years old, reside in the City of Austin (Full Purpose Jurisdiction) or Travis County, and meet income requirements at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. A physical address is required (P.O. boxes are not accepted), and clients accessing training or placement services must have authorization to work in the U.S. Residency requirements are waived for individuals experiencing homelessness, and both residency and income requirements are waived for victims of violence. Through the WERC program, participants receive support tailored to their goals, helping them build skills, gain experience, and pursue long-term employment opportunities. This program empowers individuals to overcome barriers and take confident steps toward self-sufficiency and meaningful careers.

Designed to promote economic independence and opportunity, the program offers access to job placement services, occupational training, and personalized career guidance.

General Eligibility Requirements:
Participants must:

Be at least 18 years old (in-school or out-of-school)
Be a resident of the City of Austin (Full Purpose Jurisdiction) or Travis County, with proof of physical address (no P.O. boxes)
Have a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines
Have authorization to work in the U.S. if accessing training or job placement services
Special Considerations:
Homeless individuals are exempt from residency requirements
Victims of violence are exempt from both residency and income requirements
