Event Overview:
ReThink Austin 2025 is an innovative community-driven event designed to address America’s critical literacy crisis through advanced AI-driven solutions. The AI Literacy Challenge focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to enhance reading skills for both children and adults. The event includes interactive challenges that encourage participants to create personalized digital platforms for literacy assessment, customized reading content, and AI-driven educational tools. It will culminate in an award ceremony celebrating impactful technological innovations aimed at improving literacy and educational outcomes across diverse communities.
Volunteer Role Overview:
The Innovation Challenge Committee Volunteer will support the AUTMHQ Tech Department team in planning, organizing, and executing various aspects of the AI Literacy Challenge at ReThink Austin 2025. This includes logistical support, stakeholder communication, participant coordination, and sponsor engagement. Volunteers will play a crucial role in facilitating the successful implementation of AI-driven solutions that target improving literacy.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing detailed project plans, timelines, and event schedules specific to the AI Literacy Challenge.
Coordinate registration processes, participant communication, and manage participant inquiries.
Support outreach and engagement with potential sponsors, partners, and participants focused on AI and literacy.
Help create promotional materials highlighting the importance and impact of the AI Literacy Challenge.
Assist with logistics including venue coordination, technology setup, AV requirements, and event setup and teardown.
Participate in regular planning meetings and provide updates to the event planning team.
Support onsite event activities, ensuring smooth execution of planned events and resolving issues as needed.
Collect feedback from attendees and volunteers for post-event evaluation and improvement.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience or strong interest in event planning, community organizing, education, AI, or related fields.
Comfortable working collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive team environment.
Proficiency with basic technology platforms (Google Workspace, Zoom, social media platforms).
Passionate about technology, innovation, and literacy-focused social impact initiatives.
