Regional Sales Manager- Spence
Emerson seeks a Regional Sales Manager to drive growth in pressure-reducing equipment sales while managing strategic customer relationships and sales channels.
Overview:

As our Regional Sales Manager for Spence products, you will be responsible for driving sales of pressure-reducing equipment—including condensate returns, steam pressure reducing valves and regulators, steam traps, and other steam pressure management solutions—across your assigned region. You’ll play a key role in growing our business by collaborating closely with Distributors, Representatives, strategic customers, and direct OEM accounts.
Responsibilities:
– Manage Sales Channel – Develop and maintain relationships with sales channel organizations within established geographic and product/market parameters. Lead and direct the sales channel network by providing product and application training, assistance in the development of accounts, make customer sales calls with distributor/representatives, follow up on all Sales objectives and Marketing department directives; selects, trains and evaluates all responsible sales channel organizations to ensure you meet or exceed all sales objectives.
– Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly performance updates and reviews with the Representative/Distributor channel
– Establish productive, professional relationships with Representatives, Distributors and strategic customer accounts
– Develop and deliver on key account penetration plans, including expansion within existing sales channels, and/or direct OEM customers
– Market Knowledge – Gather and disseminate market information to Marketing Department and within Sales Team regarding regional economic conditions, trends in market activity and technology, changes in customer behaviors, growth opportunities and competitor actions.
– Regional Forecasts – Develop and maintain regional sales forecasts and communicate changes to the Director of Sales, North America on an ongoing basis.
– Market Intelligence – Continuously monitor market activities within assigned industrial markets and key markets within the defined territory and communicate this information on a routine basis to Marketing and within Sales.
– New Product Development – Generate ideas, and elicit ideas from sales channels and customers, for new products and services; presents ideas for internal evaluation; actively participates on New Product development teams as assigned.
– Promotional Strategies – Support the development of promotional strategies to provide increased visibility and market penetration.
– Technical Seminars and Industry Trade Shows – Plan and conduct technical training and seminars, participate at trade shows and in other activities to facilitate sales growth.
– New Product Adoption – Meet or exceed new product sales targets through strategies and goals specific to your region and sales channel. Support customer adoption of new products through training, field trial agreements, and collaboration with sales channel around account plans before and after launch.
– Develop, support and conduct targeted product demonstrations, sales trainings, webinars and other subject matter learning events at representatives, channel partners, distributors, and customer locations.
Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree required
– 5+ years’ experience in steam equipment, valve/actuator or pressure regulator products.
– 2+ years’ experience in direct and/or distributed channel sales, business development or marketing of technical industrial products.
– Successful track record of working with a team to achieve consistent sales growth.
– High level of integrity.
– Ability to build trust with others.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
– Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
– Ability to travel domestically(overnight) 50% of time, or as required.
– Position will work out of the world headquarters building located in McKinney, TX or within assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in Steam, Institutional, HVAC or Boiler applications.
– Experience in project bid and specification proposals to major engineering firms, contractors, and district heating utilities
– Prior experience working at Emerson.
