Senior Validation and Verification (V&V) Engineer
Emerson seeks a Senior V&V Engineer in Austin to develop automated testing solutions, ensuring new products meet specifications and requirements.
Overview:
– Emerson’s Test and Measurement Systems group (formerly known as NI) Product R&D has an immediate opening for a Senior V&V Engineer within our Integrated Products design team in Austin, TX In this role, you will have the opportunity to work throughout the product lifecycle to develop products and systems that expand the test and measurement industry’s capabilities. V&V engineers within our Test and Measurement Systems business group are a key part of ensuring new designs meet the project and customer requirements, making this role critical to the team’s success. Through your work you will have opportunities to continue to expand your skills by learning from expert technical leaders and participating in initiatives to grow the craft of automated verification and validation.
Responsibilities:
– Specify, design, and build automated test solutions for verifying and validating (V&V) new product specifications and performance requirements
– Utilize LabVIEW GOOP skills to develop test applications in a Component-Based development architecture
– Participate in product and system design and development to ensure test requirements are considered and implemented during development
– Implement test plans, collect data, and generate reports for analysis and review
– Collaborate and interact with a global engineering and manufacturing team to ensure smooth realization of new products and systems
– Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation for the product
Required Qualifications:
– Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline
– Minimum 5 years relevant engineering experience in automated validation & verification
– Experience using LabVIEW GOOP
– Experience with product performance specification setting
– Familiarty with and understanding of Component-Based development practices
– Familiarty with Emerson Test & Measurement (NI) products and systems
– Located within a commutable distance to Emerson / NI’s offices in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate
– Must be a US Citizen or greencard holder. We are not sponsoring a visa for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with .NET, python, and other programming languages
– Knowledge of metrological best practices, tools, and standards
– Familiarty with common benchtop instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, and power supplies
– Experience collaborating with other technical engineering fields such as Analog, Digital, Software, Mechanical, and RF.
– Familiarty with semiconductor and/or transportation test industries
